1) Draft Management Plans for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument — Comments Due Friday, November 30.

The BLM is accepting public comments on the Grand Staircase, Kaiparowits, and Escalante Canyon Units and the Kanab-Escalante Planning Area (KEPA) of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument until November 30, 2018. Click here for talking points and to tell the BLM to choose “no action” until the courts decide on the legality of President Trump’s reduction of the monument.

2) Skutumpah Terrace Sagebrush Steppe Enhancement Project Environmental Assessment —  Comments Due Monday, December 3.

The BLM has prepared an Environmental Assessment of a “treatment” proposal (which can be found here), and plans to conclude that there are “no significant environmental impacts” from their plans to remove pinyon and juniper from more than 22,000 acres of public land within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, northeast of Kanab. Click here to tell the BLM to abandon this bad idea by choosing “Alternative B — No Action.”
