The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA) protects your right to privacy by observing the standard privacy practices outlined below.
SUWA’s online forms require users to provide contact information that may include name, email address, postal address, and similar information. We collect credit card numbers only to process membership donations, product purchases, or other financial transactions initiated by you. We do not permanently store this financial information, except for those members who have chosen to participate in our monthly giving program. In this case, the credit card numbers are not stored on the website or in any location that can be reached through the Internet. SUWA does not sell, trade or otherwise share personal credit card information with third parties.
All information provided to SUWA is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of our organization. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
SUWA collects email addresses for the purpose of sending email alerts, renewal reminders, and other correspondence to interested individuals. We may also request your email address to verify site registration or confirm an online donation or purchase. SUWA does not sell, rent, or trade email addresses to third parties.
Email recipients can remove their names from our subscriber list at any time by choosing the “Unsubscribe” option at the bottom of any email message, or by opting out of email on their profile page.
SUWA occasionally exchanges its mailing list with like-minded organizations in an effort to increase public support for Utah wilderness. Please contact us if you wish to opt-out of such exchanges. Registered users may indicate this preference on their profile page.
We may request your phone number to confirm an online transaction, contact you about an urgent issue, or thank you for a recent donation. SUWA does not make fundraising calls and does not sell, rent, or trade phone numbers to third parties.
Internet Protocol Address
SUWA collects an IP address from all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, gather broad demographic information in order to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Use of “Cookies”
If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we will ask for the friend’s name and email address. We will store this information for the sole purpose of sending a one-time email inviting your friend to visit our site.
SUWA’s site contains links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which SUWA has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.
