Last Friday evening, in his latest attack on federal public lands, President Trump announced the repeal of Executive Order 11644 of February 8, 1972 (Use of Off-Road Vehicles on the Public Lands), and Executive Order 11989 of May 24, 1977 (Off-Road Vehicles on Public Lands). He further directed federal land management agencies including the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service to rescind or revise their regulations implementing these Orders.

SUWA is hiring a legal fellow! This is a 2-year li

SUWA is hiring a legal fellow! This is a 2-year litigation position that will focus on defense of Utah’s wildest federal public lands. SUWA’s work includes cases involving national monuments, off-road vehicles, R.S. 2477, energy development, and vegetation removal.

The legal fellow works closely with other program staff in SUWA’s Salt Lake and Moab offices and is supervised by the legal director. We are looking for 1-3 years of relevant experience, including familiarity with federal public land, environmental, and administrative law statutes and regulations.
