Today, the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) re

Today, the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) rejected a lawsuit from the State of Utah which sought to order the federal government to begin selling off or otherwise “disposing” of more than 18.5 million acres of public lands in Utah. Above is a quote from SUWA Legal Director, Steve Bloch.

If you weren't able to attend and live in Utah, you can still speak up by TAKING ACTION NOW, and telling Governor Cox to stop his attacks on public lands! Whether it’s the State’s attempted Land Grab Lawsuit, attacks on Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments, or supporting the Northern Corridor Highway, Governor Cox is anti-public-lands, over and over again. As snow falls gently on the sandstone, our Stewardship team is hard at work crafting this year’s slate of volunteer projects across the state—and we are just a few weeks away from releasing our 2025 project calendar!

Join us on January 30th for a “Winter Stew” social at Publik Space in Salt Lake City. We will celebrate and kick off our 10th season of stewardship and share a glimpse of our volunteer project calendar. Be the first to know where we are headed in 2025!

If you have always wanted to join a stewardship project but something has stopped you, this is THE event to attend to learn more. We will have stew, warm drinks, and dessert; share stories and camaraderie; and look forward to another year of working hands-on to Protect Wild Utah. RSVP at the link in our bio.

For those who don’t live locally or can’t attend, you can still help us celebrate our program’s 10th anniversary by joining a stewardship project in 2025. The project calendar goes live to the general public on February 1st.
