This is not a drill!! Public Lands Sell-off is bac This is not a drill!! Public Lands Sell-off is back in the Senate Budget Bill—and it's FAR worse! Over 250 million acres, including local recreation areas, wilderness study areas, inventoried roadless areas, and critical wildlife habitat are ELIGIBLE FOR SALE.

In Utah, this comes to 18.7 million acres—6.1 of US Forest Service and 12.7 of Bureau of Land Management land. It includes lands surrounding Utah’s national parks, lands with high-quality wildlife habitat and innumerable cultural resources, and world-class hiking, biking, skiing, hunting, and fishing areas.

Check out these maps from our friends at @wildernesssociety and reach out to your Senators ASAP! To view the interactive map and/or take action using our online tool—visit link in bio. #protectwildutah

This week, SUWA's freshest face, Executive Directo This week, SUWA's freshest face, Executive Director Scott Braden, spent time with our legislative team in Washington DC to meet with Senators, members of Congress, and community partners to discuss his vision for wilderness on public lands in Utah. Meetings included our redrock champions Rep. Melanie Stansbury and Sen. Dick Durbin, members of the Utah delegation, and leaders in the wilderness and public lands advocacy space based there.

Additionally, Scott joined our DC staff and friends organizations at a "Don't Sell My Public Lands" visibility event during Interior Sec. Doug Burgum's hearings on the Trump Administration's budget. SUWA's strength at the DC level is vital to ensuring public lands remain public. Reach out to your reps to co-sponsor America's Red Rock Wilderness today by visiting: suwa.org/arrwa119

Senator Mike Lee from Utah released plans yesterda Senator Mike Lee from Utah released plans yesterday that would force the sale of millions of acres of public lands across the West to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. After refusing to provide details for weeks, he released the Energy and Natural Resources Committee’s text for the FY25 Budget Reconciliation Bill, which is currently being considered by the Senate. The text requires the Department of the Interior and US Forest Service to offer up millions of acres of public land across 11 western states (AK, AZ, CA, CO, ID, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY) for sale.
