Washington county's favorite zombie project is back—the Northern Corridor Highway. In early October, the Trump administration directed the Bureau of Land Management to revisit an application from the Utah Department of Transportation for the four-lane through the Red Cliffs NCA. The proposal has been rejected seven times, mostly recently in December 2024 by the BLM and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Building a highway through a congressionally protected landscape would permanently destroy critical habitat for the imperiled Mojave desert tortoise, violate bedrock environmental laws, and mar iconic redrock vistas. The most effective traffic solutions involve smarter planning and coordinated land-use decisions, not bulldozing protected habitat. ACT NOW! #protectwildutah
